Tulipa clusiana

The real Tulipa clusiana. Named after Carolus Clusius, who founded the Leiden Botanical Garden in the Netherlands in 1593. This jewel originates from the area between Iran and Pakistan, but also lives in the Mediterranean countries because of the adaptability to cold winters. The flower is pure white with cherry red markings on the outer petals. On hot days the flower will open fully to show the purple heart.
